GuangZhiLv (“广之旅”), a Guangzhou-based travel agency, has formed a Hunan branch with HuangGuanMeiTu after acquiring the wholesaler in central China that specializes in short-haul tours to Southeast Asian destinations.
The move follows GuangZhiLv’s launch of its smart tourist platform “Yi Qi Xing” (“易起行”) and is an important step for it to venture out of southern China and operate nation-wide.
Hunan, an important province in the central southern China with well-developed transportation, is witnessing a steady increase in tourist revenue and outbound visitor traffic. HuangGuanMeiTu is a major travel wholesaler in the province specializing in outbound tours to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, as well as island destinations.
After acquiring HuangGuanMeiTu, GuangZhiLv’s will be buoyed with stronger distribution channels in Hunan for its short-haul outbound tours. GuangZhiLv expects the business volume of short-haul overseas trips in Hunan would grow by at least 50% after its Hunan branch office is established.
GuangZhiLv currently has branch offices in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao, Beijing, Yunnan, Sichuan, Xinjiang in its distribution network boasting nearly 400 shop fronts. (Translated by Jerry)
