36Kr reported that outdoor experience service platform Tourye has picked up RMB 40 million in its Pre-B round of financing in November, led by strategic investor Tuniu and backed by Amer Culture. The injection put its total funds raised to RMB 60 million.
In 2017, the company received RMB 10 million in its A round funding from Huagai Capital in April, and another RMB 10 million in the A+ round of financing from Zero2IPO Group in December.
Established in 2008, Tourye is an outdoor sports platform that started relatively early and enjoyed a fairly large scale in China. It has mapped nine classic tourist routes covering Hulun Buir Grassland, Kubuqi Desert, Silk Road, Tea Horse Road (also known as the Southwest Silk Road) and Taiwan. It is planning to expand overseas by exploring Antarctica and Mount Kilimanjaro this year.
The company currently operates four business units:
* Customer-targeted events are held four or five times a year. The itinerary is mainly curated from the nine major routes, and includes 4-day/3-night 108 kilometers of trail running or hiking. Customers are usually acquired through online promotion or through more than 30 urban operation centers.
* Business-oriented events have been conducted with hundreds of business schools, associations, institutions and companies to customize activities for the quality development of employees/members.
* High-end team building projects are set up for the staff of companies.
* The event factory oversees the planning, execution, service and security for Tourye and other players in the outdoor activity industry. It also builds temporary venues to meet basic event needs such as catering, accommodation, medical care and rescue.
Travel products booking fees, sports equipment and advertising services are the three major revenue streams, and travel product booking revenues make up more than 90% of total.
The company is anticipated to turn over more than 100 million yuan in 2018, with hundreds of customers and tens of millions of yuan registered in every single event.
