China’s outbound travel site Qyer.com announced recently that it has made a strategic investment in LUXE City Guides, a cult pocket city guide and mobile app, as it seeks to boost destination travel offerings and grow inbound tourism.
The Beijing-based company has been expanding its destination business globally, having launched the Q-Home, offline space rentals in popular destinations like Chiang Mai, Kyoto and Osaka, and the day trip project “City Walk” in 18 cities around the world.
It aims to provide travelers with services across the whole journey, from pre-departure inspiration to on-site services at destinations and post-trip sharing.
The in-depth cooperation with LUXE City Guides will help Qyer.com maximize the integration of destination resources and further improve its destination business presence at overseas markets.
Qyer.com’s intelligent trip planning assistant app, which has been in the market for some time, has been used to make more than 26 million trip plans for users so far.
Through the latest cooperation, LUXE City Guides’ quality travel guide will add more content to what the trip planning tool can offer to Qyer’s travelers, and make the app more accessible to international users.
LUXE City Guides was reputed globally for offering quality travel guide information of 30 destinations around the world.
Qyer.com will use the LUXE City Guides platform to make available its high-quality content of Chinese domestic destinations to overseas users, to better promote China's high-quality destination features and facilitate the development of inbound tourism.
Xiao Yi, founder and CEO of Qyer.com, said: “As travel is increasingly seen as a way of life, travelers’ demand for quality, customized and in-depth travel content will continue to grow.”
“Both Qyer.com and LUXE City Guides are committed to delivering quality travel content. We will work together to provide Chinese travelers with more in-depth and real-time travel information, and make Chinese travel destinations better known around the world," he added.
LUXE City Guides has entered into strategic partnerships with many of the world's top travel brands and tour operators since 2014, including the Peninsula Hotels, Hong Kong Tourism Board and the InterContinental Hotels Group.
Simon Westcott, LUXE City Guides CEO said: " LUXE City Guides’ products and content will be more deeply integrated with Qyer.com, in the hope of providing more quality content and products for travelers around the world."
