Airbus presses Chinese airlines to order planes as widebody slots fill up
>> Airbus is urging Chinese airlines to place orders for its biggest planes because huge purchases by other carriers and supply-chain disruptions are extending wait times in the post-Covid travel boom. “Slot availability is evolving very quickly, and we have tried to accelerate this discussion with our Chinese customers,” Airbus China Chief Executive Officer George Xu said.
Air China eyes multiple international route resumptions from Chengdu
>> Air China's southwestern branch in Chengdu will launch, resume, and put extra flights from Chengdu to multiple international destinations this July to cope with the upcoming summer travel peak. Among them, starting on July 2nd, Air China launched a new direct flight from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) to the capital of the Philippines, Manila, operating three flights per week.

Indonesian tourism ministry invites Chinese journalists to a famtrip in Bali
>> Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy held a familiarization trip (famtrip) by inviting five journalists from five Chinese media companies in Bali from June 26 to July 1, 2023. Tourists from China have been the main market focus for Indonesian tourism since 2017. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, China became one of the countries that contributed the highest number of tourist arrivals to Indonesia.
Sabah wants to rekindle tourism links with China's Xi'an city
>> Sabah hopes to rekindle its tourism and cultural exchange with Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province in central China, which was derailed by Covid-19 pandemic travel restrictions. State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew was in Xi'an to get the memorandum of understanding of friendship and cooperation signed in 2019 between Kota Kinabalu and Xi'an back on track.
Oman sets sights on Chinese visitors with new tourism office
>> Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is seeking to establish a tourism representative office in China, part of the ministry’s efforts to develop marketing plans that promote Oman’s tourism attractions through its global offices. The primary objective of opening this office is to strengthen relationships between local partners, including tourism companies and hotels, in the Chinese market. Interested parties have until August 1, to submit their bids for consideration.
Foreign tourist arrivals in Mongolia up 75.7% in first half of 2023
>> Mongolia received a total of 339,517 foreign tourists in the first half of this year, up 75.7 percent year-on-year, the country's Ministry of Environment and Tourism said Tuesday. Russia, China and South Korea were the biggest sources of tourist arrivals for Mongolia in the January-June period, the ministry said in a statement.
'Reunion with Italy' promotes tourism between China and Italy

Three Gorges Dam sees record tourists in first half of year
>> The Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydropower project, welcomed a record number of tourists in the first half of this year, according to the China Three Gorges Corporation. The January-June period this year saw 1.5 million visitors, 50,000 more than the same period in 2019.
