Southwest China's Xizang autonomous region (Tibet) received about 2.04 million visitors from Feb 10 to 17 this year, up over 300 percent year-on-year, local authorities said. According to the regional culture and tourism department, Xizang's tourism sector raked in more than 1.7 billion yuan (about $240 million) -- an increase of 365 percent year-on-year.

Shoppers visiting China's island province of Hainan spent a record 2.49 billion yuan ($346.2 million) on duty-free goods over the eight-day Lunar New Year holiday, data from Haikou Customs showed. Beijing's biggest lantern show charms visitors
Known as Beijing's biggest lantern show, The Megalights Wonderland at Beijing Wenyuhe Park has seen a boom in visitor numbers since its opening on February 2. Over a thousand festive lanterns from the "Chinese Lantern City" of Zigong, southwest China's Sichuan Province, have been installed at the park, resulting in a rich display of lights and colors. The lanterns' designs were a combination of tradition, trendy-chic and technology.
