5 Tips For Choosing The Right Tablet
Tablets have turned from a niche to a mainstream product these days. They are supposed to fall between a smartphone and a computer however, with the current advancements, tablets are slowing but surely replacing both. Well, not really but you get what I am saying. It is getting better and better and many people actually, that do not want the best of the best performance from their PCs are replacing them with tablets and you can even binge watch movies with these tablets. The point being, tablets are here to stay and many companies offer them now. So, assuming that you are in the market to get one for yourself; here are 5 Tips for Choosing the Right Tablet:
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Point 1: Know Your Purpose
It is important to know what you are going to use your tablet for. A tablet can be categorised as a computer that you can make phone calls on… almost. Many types of tablet excel in different areas so it is necessary to determine for what purpose you are investing in it. For example, if you are going to be reading mostly, you should simply go with an Amazon Kindle instead of a traditional tablet. It is going to provide you with much more satisfaction and save you a ton of money. If, on the other hand, you want a tablet for general use. A little bit of art, a little bit of gaming and watching a show every now and then, a multifunctional tablet like an Ipad or Samsung Galaxy Tab would fare you well. If you are going to be working on your tablet as well, I think you would appreciate the additional keyboard that some companies offer like Samsung or Apple.
Point 2: Size
Naturally, a tablet isn’t small… or are they? Well, they will never be as small as a smartphone but many of them come very close. Often also called “phablets”, there are many tablets that can possibly be used as your only device. With that said, if you are going for a traditionally scaled tablet, it is going to be impossible to put it in your pocket and you are going to always have to carry a bag with you. Also, the larger the size of a device, the heavier it is going to be. Quick example, my Samsung Note 20 is perfect for me but extremely heavy and uncomfortable for my wife. It isn’t a tab, I know, but I hope I get my point across with that example. Depending upon which size is comfortable and solves your purpose, make your decision.
Point 3: Operating System
I feel people tend to either not care about the operating system at all or they only care about it. For the most part, people that use Apple’s iOS tend to fall into the latter category. The “Appleverse” is one wherein people get sucked and seem to can’t adjust, easily at least, to change. What I mean by that is, if you are used to iOS, shifting to Android might not be the smoothest transition. That part is fairly subjective as some can hop between the two seamlessly but the majority of people tend to have issues. Another reason why you must keep the OS of your potential tablet in mind is that certain apps can be only found in one OS or the other. Many Android apps aren’t available on the App Store and vice versa. You cannot FaceTime from an Android device and an Apple product will never be as flexible as an Android. You must choose what sacrifices you are willing to make.
Point 4: Pricing
I almost did not include this point as it is rather obvious but it is the number one tip to keep in mind. Tablets are a device and spending way too much money (too much money being defined by your pocket) doesn’t make sense. Even though tablets can potentially last long, you don’t wanna go broke getting yourself one. Also, some of you would also want to get accessories. Naturally, you will get what you pay for at the end of the day though.
Point 5: Appearance
Maybe it is just me but everything, every cool feature doesn’t seem as cool unless the device itself looks attractive. Maybe I am the shallow one here but hey, AI doesn’t have feelings… yet. No point in getting yourself a tablet that you think doesn’t look good. Ignore what I said above and if you think something is cool, it is worth the money. I mean, this is just free advice here. Seriously though, looks are subjective so don’t care about what others think looks good; go with what you like.
